Sutton & Hale began with something Sarah Sutton and Daniel Hale had always shared: a habit of finding good things and telling other people about them.

A sweater that became an everyday favorite. Something for the home that made life a little easier. A thoughtful gift that ended up being ordered again for someone else.

Over time, those recommendations became the idea behind Sutton & Hale.

Inspired by the independent shops and timeless character of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, we created a place for products that feel worth bringing home. From comfortable clothing and accessories to useful finds for everyday life, everything we offer is chosen with the same question in mind: would we be happy recommending this to someone we know?

We believe a good store doesn't need to offer everything. It should simply make it easier to find the right things.
